If there’s one thing I learned about myself this weekend, it’s that I value integrity of a person more than anything else.
Most people choose other values, or sometimes even the physical features, to “weigh” the value of another person for oneself. I choose to look at people and value them depending on their integrity. My personal definition of it would be how much a person can walk his/her talk, and be completely sincere and honest down to the smallest details. I realized that I take words seriously. I believe that whatever comes out of your mouth should be lived up to, never just for the benefit of being said. What you say, and what you choose to do about it measure how much courage you have to face whatever consequences your words or your actions might entail and how much values and principles you have as a person. It defines your strength and your ability to commit.
Integrity is something that I have to work on. And I’m sure a lot of people also do. Because it doesn’t come with only the big things, it actually grows from the small ones.
